Autumn Darts League 2013 [01/11/13]

On Friday 1st November, the 2013 Autumn Darts League took place at Rileys Northampton.
Last year the event was contested by 14 students, with Dan Owens being crowned champion and Nathan Keen the runner-up.
Sixteen students entered, featuring one non-Sponne student; Nathan Richards. A draw was conducted to split students into groups of four, and the round robin commenced. Group B was announced the "Group of Death" with Craeg Doggett, James McKay and Matt Hunt all drawn together, meaning one of the big names would not make it through to the knockout. Moment of the group phase, went to Carl Davidson who took out 59, scoring S14, S15, D15, superb darts as he made it into the quarter-finals.
Following a quarter-final appearance in the Sheild, Owen Sturgess went one better with an accomplished 2-0 victory over Craeg Doggett as he made it through to the Semi-finals. Luke Carr and Nathan Richards also made it through, and faced each other in a thrilling game in which Luke went 2-1 up, before Nathan battled back to 3-2. In the other half of the draw, Harry Cohen took out Owen Sturgess 2-0 to progress to the final. The event concluded with Nathan Richards winning 3-0 in the final against Harry Cohen, notching up a 17-dart leg en route.
